about us

We are a mother and daughter team who founded Suppose because we delight in creating beautiful things with our hands. At Suppose we relish in helping others find the inspiration, supplies, and skills they need for their own sewn creations. We especially love the tradition of quilting, and are excited to introduce it to new generations and bring new ideas to long-time quilters. We continually find joy in the colors and details of the fabrics we carry and hope you will too.

Kathy

Kathy began quilting in high school and developed quite a passion for it. She co-founded the first quilt guild in her hometown, and served on the board of the Utah Quilt Guild for 3 years. In the years since Kathy truly became obsessed with quilting, she has been a voracious researcher, learner, and fabric shopper and has become a walking quilting library. Multiple spinal surguries couldn't even stop her. When she's not designing quilts, she's tending to her two Bernese Mountain Dogs or adding to her collection of antique green pottery.

Jo

Jo is Kathy's oldest child, and despite her mother's adept skills she didn't truly learn to sew until enrolling in a university course her Freshman year.  Her passion for fabric, and the design & construction of everything she could make with it, grew until it took over her life and she dropped out of a psychology PhD program to open Suppose. (She had to remind her dad that she still had a Masters from an Ivy Leaugue University to get away with that.) These days you might catch her practicing color therapy instead of psychotherapy in the Suppose classroom.

We run supposecreatedelight.com as well as a brick & mortar store in Preston, Idaho.
