little artists

Each year when holiday time approaches, the local newspaper, the , publishes a free coloring book for children, the pages of which can be colored and brought in to local stores for a chance at winning prizes. I have fond memories of coloring them myself when visiting my Grandma in Preston. At Suppose we display the artwork that gets entered here and then have the winners come in for picture taking.  Thanks to all the cute kiddos that brought their colored sleeping teddy bears pictures in!  And now without further ado, here are the winners: Dru, Ella, Ty, and Jed.

holla, blackfoot!

Here’s a little shout out to the ladies of Blackfoot, Idaho who brought their quilt guild to visit Suppose recently.  Recently being interpreted loosely, if you notice the short sleeves you may be right in assuming this visit happened before December. Way before.  But we still wanted to thank these lovely ladies for coming.  We had a blast visiting with you, and loved seeing the projects you’re working on and what quilts & fabrics get you excited.

If you have a group you’d like to bring to Suppose, we are happy to prepare a demonstration for your visit, or take care of any other accommodations you might need.  Just let us know when you’re coming! See contact info in the sidebar. >>>

What a lovely surprise on Tuesday when Mel, my friend and hairstylist (she’s a genius), and her friend Michelle (who’s handiwork you can see in the costumes of the upcoming film Gentleman Broncos) strolled through the door at Suppose.  They drove all the way from Salt Lake City to check things out and I had a blast giving them a tour of my favorite fabrics. I think they enjoyed it too because they left with some good loot. I can’t wait to see the concoctions it all becomes, especially Mel’s birdie couch pillows and Michelle’s dress of felt.

The exciting visits are never ending. We are fans of Julie Popa, who runs Sunflower Hill Designs, wrote the favorite book, Young at Heart Quilts (among others), and has her coming out next month for Exclusively Quilters (which we will be carrying in it’s entirety!).  We were thrilled to have her, her sweet mother Yvonne and her adorable kids in the shop last week.

Julie went home with bundles of fun fabric, and I can’t wait to see what she’s working on next!

More fun visits!  On Thursday, we were delighted to meet many of the ladies from a guild in Pocatello, ID on their way through town to a retreat.  These bubbly ladies turned the shop into a day-long party.

We love getting out of town visitors! And by the way, if there are any groups or guilds out there who want to plan a visit to the shop for more than just some impromptu shopping, we are happy to plan a demonstration, mini-class, or a fun activity of some sort just for you.  Just call at least a day ahead and we’ll customize something.
